The vineyard on the Plateau Calcaire north of Saint-Émilion(Bordeaux) was named after a former mayor of Libourne. Owned by the Jabiol family since 1952, the vineyards cover seven hectares of vines planted with Merlot (51%), Cabernet Sauvignon (28%), Cabernet Franc (18%) and Cot (3%). The estate was classified as a Grand Cru Classé in 2006. The second wine was called "Chevaliers de Malte" (Knights of Malta). In 2009, Château Cadet-Piola was sold to the insurance group "AG2R La Mondiale"; the last vintage under this name was produced in 2011. From 2012, the vineyards became part of Château Soutard.
