The vineyard is located in the municipality of Cadaujac in the Pessac-Léognan area of Graves (Bordeaux). It came into the possession of a US consortium in 1979 after a fire destroyed the original château in 1962. The 18th century building was extensively renovated and the cellars modernised. In 1980, it was acquired by Lucien Lurton (1925-2023). Daughter Sophie Lurton-Cogombles and her husband Laurent Cogombles have been running the estate since 1992. Both white and red wines are classified as Cru Classé de Graves.

Vineyards & wine

The vineyards cover 47 hectares, of which around 40 hectares are planted with red vines and 7 hectares with white varieties. They are planted with the red wine varieties Merlot (55%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cot (5%) and the white wine varieties Sémillon (50%) and Sauvignon Blanc (50%) for the white wines. The long-lasting red wine matures for 18 months, around a third of which is in new barriques, while the white wine matures for around six months in wood. The annual production amounts to around 100,000 bottles of red wine and 20,000 bottles of white wine. The second wine is called "Les Chênes de Bouscaut".
