Château Bonalgue

The winery is located on the outskirts of Libourne at the western end of the Pomerol (Bordeaux) area. The château was built in 1815 by retired captain Antoine Rabioun. Since 1926, the estate has been owned by the Bourotte family and is now managed by Pierre Bourotte. The well-known oenologist Michel Rolland (*1947) is active in an advisory capacity. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares and are planted with Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). The long-lasting red wine is aged in 50% new barriques. The second wine is called "Château Burgrave".

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
