The winery is located in the commune of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes in the area of Saint-Émilion (Bordeaux). It was taken over in 2000 by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard, whose family also owns the two wineries Château Haut-Bergey (Pessac-Léognan) and Clos L'Eglise (Pomerol). The estate is managed by daughter Hélène Garcin-Lévêque, and after the takeover, major investments were made in the cellar and the vines. The estate was first classified as "Grand Cru Classé" in 2012. The vineyards cover 17 hectares, planted with Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). The BSA is made in 100% new barriques, after which the long-lasting red wines mature for 18 months in 100% new barriques. The second wine is called "Le Vallon de Barde Haut".
