Chasselas Rouge

The white grape variety possibly originates from Switzerland. Synonyms are Chasselas de Jericho, Chasselas Piros, Chasselas Riesler, Chasselas Rose de Falloux, Chasselas Rose Fonce, Chasselas Roxo, Genser, Großbreunel, Piros Gyoengyszoeloe, Roter Gutedel, Tramontaner Rose, Vilmorin Rose and Žlahtnina. It is a somatic mutation with reddish berry colour of the white grape variety Chasselas. The variety is used as a wine grape and table grape. In 2016, 90 hectares of vineyards were designated; see in this regard under Chasselas (statistics Kym Anderson).
