The Italian wine author, journalist and wine critic Daniele Cernilli (*1954) is also known by his nickname "Doctor Wine". He also runs a wine web portal under this name. He was one of the founding members of the wine guide Gambero Rosso and held the positions of editor-in-chief and publisher from 1987 to 2011. From 1999 to 2008 he was one of the authors of the TV wine channel "RaiSat Gambero Rosso". He regularly publishes on the subject of wine in the trade magazines Wine & Spirit International, Le Pagine del Vino and Il Vino. Cernilli is active in the Italian Sommelier Association in the field of training. In May 2013, he received the title "Maestro Assaggiatore Onorario dallֹ'ONAV" (Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori Vini) in connection with his work as a wine taster. See also under Literature.
