Cellar Tube

A term commonly used in Austria to describe the tubular wine cellar, which was dug out of the pressing house into the slope, which was mostly made of loess or clay. Often side passages were then dug as well. Due to the even temperatures, optimal storage conditions exist here. See also under Cellar Lane.
