The winery is located in the municipality of Tagliolo Monferrato in the province of Alessandria in the Italian region of Piedmont. The origins of the estate date back to 1498, when the traditional noble family Marchesi Pinelli Gentile started producing wine. Today's owners are the family descendants Oberto and Luca Pinelli Gentile. The Castello (castle) is surrounded by a medieval hamlet (small village). The vineyards cover an area of 20 hectares, planted with the red wine varieties Dolcetto, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Nero, and the white wine varieties Cortese, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc. Only our own grapes are processed. Through partly rigorous thinning out, a quality-increasing yield reduction takes place. The entire vinification process, from pressing the grapes to bottling, is carried out directly on the Castello.
