The winery is located in the municipality of Kurtinig on the wine road (Cortina sulla strada del vino) in the Italian wine growing area of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige region). It was founded in 1970 by A. Giovanett in Neumarkt. In 1989 the management was taken over by son Günther and his wife Alessandra and the location was moved to Kurtinig. Son Dipl. Ing. for viticulture and oenology Ivan Giovanett is responsible for the cellar, his daughter Ines, who is also studying viticulture and oenology, works in the administration and sales departments. The vineyards cover an area of about 50 hectares, stretching from Salurn to Bolzano. About 60% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Bianco and Kerner, and about 40% with the red wine varieties Vernatsch, Lagrein, Pinot Nero, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in barriques. The wide range of products is marketed in the four lines Mont Mes (young wines), Classic (classic matured, pure red and white wines), Villa Karneid (Cru wines from a selected, 8-hectare site in the South Tyrolean lowlands) and Burgum Novum (top wines from the best sites).
