Carlos Serres

The winery is located in the city of Haro in the centre of the Spanish Rioja sub-region Rioja Alta. It was founded in 1896 by Frenchman Charles (Carlos) Serres (born 1862), who had previously created wines for the Parisian wine house Alfonso Vigier. The vineyards cover 50 hectares. The standard line is simply called "Serres" with wines in white, rosé and red. The next level is the wines produced under "Carlos Serres", which are produced as Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. The "Carlos Serres Gran Reserva" is made from Tempranillo and Graciano and matures for 36 months in French and American barriques. The flagship of the house is the "Onomastica Especial Reserva", made from selected Tempranillo and Graciano grapes from the best sites and aged for 24 months in French barriques.
