The winery is located in the municipality of Karditsa in the southwest of the Greek region of Thessaly. It was founded by Ioannis Karamitros, and since the early 1990s it has been managed by his son Giorgios. The vineyards cover 40 hectares in the area of Messenikola at an altitude of 300 to 700 metres above sea level. They are planted with the white wine varieties Assyrtiko, Batiki, Chardonnay, Malagousia and Roditis, and with the red wine varieties Limniona, Mavro Messenikola, Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Muscat d'Hamburg. The cultivation is done in the traditional way, but without the use of pesticides. Fermentation is initiated with selected yeasts. The white wines are aged in steel tanks, the red wines in French barriques. The premium wines include the POP red wine Messenikola (Mavro Messenikola, Syrah, Carignan), the PGI red wine Melisma (Cabernet Sauvignon, Limniona), both aged for 12 months in barriques, and the PGI white wine Moi, je M'en Fous (Malagouisa). Various wines are also bottled in 187-millilitre bottles and in bag-in-boxes of 5, 10 and 20 litres. Over 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The wine is exported to Germany, Belgium, England and the USA.
