Canner Seedless

The white grape variety is a new variety between Hunisa (Dattier Noir) x Sultanine (Sultana). Synonyms or breeding numbers are California 4-72, Canner and Kenners Seedless. The cross was made in 1931 by Dr. Harold P. Olmo (1909-2006) in the USA at the California Agricultural Experiment Station. The vine is mainly used for the production of table grapes and sultanas. It is grown in tiny quantities in the French region of Languedoc-Roussillon. In 2016, 0.1 hectares of vines were reported there (Kym Anderson statistics).
