Campo de la Guardia

Special wine-growing area located in the municipality of Las Guardia in the province of Toledo, south of Madrid in the Spanish region of La Mancha (Castile-La Mancha) It was classified in 2009 as the highest Spanish wine quality level Vino de Pago. The vineyards cover 81 hectares of vineyards on dark limestone soils. The red wine varieties Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Malbec(Cot), as well as the white wine variety Chardonnay (exclusively in the plot El Casar) are cultivated. The area is entirely owned by the Bodegas Martúe winery.
