Campanario

The red grape variety is a new variety between Fernão Pires x Preto Cardana. DNA analyses carried out in 2020 have shown that the parenthood Camarate Preto x Fernão Pires, as stated in the breeding list, is incorrect. The cross was made in Portugal in 1950 by the breeder José Leão Ferreira de Almeida. The variety is grown in small quantities in the Centro region. In 2016, two hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson).
