The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Camaralet, Camaraou, Camarau Petit, Camaraue Blanc and Camaroo. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Camaralet de Lasseube x Plant de Dubosc 2. However, this is based on only 18 DNA markers (see Molecular genetics). It is therefore not a colour mutation of the red variety Camaraou Noir. It must not be confused with the Camaralet de Lasseube (Camarau Blanc) variety, despite seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological similarities. No stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
