The white grape variety (breeding number Gf.1993-22-6) is a new breeding between Gf.Ga-47-42 (Bacchus x Seyval Blanc) x Seyve Villard 39-639 (parentage unknown). The mother variety originated in 1964 at Geilweilerhof, the father variety already at the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20th century at the well-known Seyve-Villard breeding farm. The crossing took place in 1993 at the Julius Kühn Institute in Siebeldingen (Palatinate). The breeding objective was to develop a suitable variety in the context of climate change with the effects of higher temperatures and higher alcohol levels in wine. Plant variety protection was granted in 2015. The late-maturing vine has low stinginess. It is considered a PIWI (fungus tolerant) variety due to its resistance to powdery and downy mildew, botrytis and black rot with around 80% fungicide savings potential. The variety yields fruity, riesling-like white wines with a spicy aroma, tangy acidity and moderate alcohol content. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
