The red grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Corcejon, Miguel de Arco, Miguelillo, Parrel and Salceño. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2018, it originates from a presumably natural cross between Hebén x unknown partner. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). The vine is used as a wine grape and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
