Cabinda

This red grape variety is a new cross between Grand Noir x João de Santarém (Castelão Francês). The cross was made in Portugal in 1948 by José Leão Ferreira de Almeida. It is grown in the Lisboa region and is approved for the DOC wine spirit Lourinhã. In 2016, 355 hectares were designated (Kym Anderson).
