Cabinda

The red grape variety is a new variety between Grand Noir x João de Santarém(Castelão Francês). It was crossed in Portugal in 1948 by José Leão Ferreira de Almeida. It is cultivated in the region of Extremadura and is approved for the DOC wine spirit Lourinhã. In 2016, 355 hectares were designated (Kym Anderson).
