The white grape variety is a new variety between Cabernet Sauvignon x Vitis amurensis Ruprecht. Synonyms are VB 32-7, Blattner VB 32-7, Ravel Blanc and Sauvignon Soyhières. Genes of Vitis amurensis and Vitis vinifera are present. The hybrid was crossed in 1998 by the breeder Valentin Blattner in Soyhières in the Swiss canton of Jura. The frost-hardy vine is resistant to botrytis and both types of powdery mildew, which is why it is considered a PIWI variety. It is grown in small quantities in Switzerland(Schaffhausen). In 2016, one hectare of vineyard was designated (Kym Anderson).
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
