The winery is located in the municipality of Ludwigshöhe ( Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. It was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by two brothers, Johann and Jakob Becker. Today it is run in the third family generation by Lotte Pfeffer-Müller and Hans Müller. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vines in, for example, the single vineyard sites Falkenberg, Paterhof and Tafelstein (Dienheim), as well as Teufelskopf (Ludwigshöhe). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Scheurebe, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Regent. Organic viticulture has been practised since the mid-1980s. In order to find the optimal time for the work in the vineyard, an own weather station was installed. The wines are matured in stainless steel, in traditional large wooden bar rels and, in the case of Pinot Noir, also in barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine is also produced. The winery is a member of the VDP, as well as the ECOVIN association.
