The wine company "I Vini di Guido Brivio SA" in Mendrisio in the Swiss canton of Ticino was founded in 1988 as the successor to the company "Fratelli Valli", which was bought by the Brivio family in 1988. It was there that Guido Brivio's career began. Through radical changes to the company, which has been operating under its present name since 1992, he quickly managed to gain recognition in the Ticino wine scene. The grapes are purchased from 70 contract winegrowers from 13 municipalities in the Mendrisio region. Vinification takes place in a cellar carved deep into the rocky massif of Monte Generoso. The premium wines include "Bianco Rovere", which is made from Merlot, fermented white and aged in barriques, the Merlot red wines "Baiocco" and "Riflessi d'Epoca", and the red wine cuvée "Vigna d'Antan" made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
