DOC area for red wines, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region of Puglia The zone covers the two municipalities of Brindisi and Mesagne in the province of Brindisi. The Bianco is produced from Chardonnay and/or Malvasia Bianca = Malvasia Bianca di Candia (zum. 80%), as well as other authorised varieties (max. 20%). Rosso (also as Novello and Riserva) and Rosato are blended from Negroamaro (zum. 70%), Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and/or Susumaniello and/or Montepulciano and/or Sangiovese and/or other approved varieties (max. 30%). The pure variety wines must contain at least 85% (red wines) and 90% (white wines) of the respective variety, the remaining 15% can be other approved varieties. These are Chardonnay, Fiano, Malvasia Bianca, Negroamaro (also as Riserva), Negroamaro Rosato, Sauvignon(Sauvignon Blanc) and Susumaniello. Of the white wines there is also a Spumante.
