The winery "Azienda Agricola Brezza Giacomo e Figli" is located in the centre of the municipality of Barolo in the Italian region of Piedmont. The Brezza family has owned vineyards here since 1885. Around 1910 Giacomo Brezza and his father Antonio were the first to bottle wine. The family business, now run by the fourth generation of the Brezza family, also includes a hotel and a restaurant. The original part of the wine cellar, in traditional round vaults made of old bricks, was formerly used for the entire work cycle; today it is used to store the wine in oak barrels. However, by far the largest part of the cellar is of more recent construction. The total estate comprises 23 hectares of land, 18 of which are planted with vines in Barolo (15 hectares), Alba (2 hectares) and Monforte (1 hectare). Red wines are produced to 90%. These are exclusively DOC/DOCG wines, such as Barolo from the historical sites "Bricco Sarmassa", "Cannubi" and "Sarmassa", Barbera d'Alba from "Cannubi Muscatel" (from a vineyard over 60 years old), Dolcetto d'Alba from "San Lorenzo", as well as Langhe Freisa and (as the only white wine) Chardonnay. About 90,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Over 60% of these are exported to the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Australia, England, Taiwan, France, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium.
