The winery is located in the community of Bad Dürkheim-Leistadt (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Palatinate. It was created in 1993 by the merger of the two wineries Emil Brenneis in Leistadt and Erhard Koch in Ellerstadt and is managed by the two graduate biologists Matthias Koch and Verena Suratny. The vineyards cover almost nine hectares of vineyards in the locations Herzfeld and Kirchenstück (Leistadt), Honigsack (Herxheim), Hofstück (Deidesheim), as well as Saumagen and Steinacker (Kallstadt). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (40%),Pinot Gris, PinotBlanc, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Auxerrois and Viognier, as well as the red wine varieties St. Laurent,Pinot Noir, Blauer Portugieser, Merlot, Nebbiolo and Syrah.
