single vineyard in the municipality of Bernkastel (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The southwest-facing vineyards with 15 to 55% slopes cover almost 18 hectares of vineyards on medium-textured, stony and partly loamy clay-slate weathered soils. Shares in the site are held, for example, by the wineries Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler, Geheimrat J. Wegeler Erben, Kerpen and S. A. Prüm.
The picture shows the municipality of Bernkastel-Kues (Bernkastel area) with its eleven individual vineyards Alte Badstube am Doctor berg, Bratenhöfchen, Doctor, Graben, Johannisbrünnchen, Kardinalsberg, Lay, Matheisbildchen, Rosenberg, Schlossberg, Stephanus-Rosengärtchen and Weisenstein.
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
