Branco Especial

The white grape variety (also Especial Branco) originates from Portugal. Presumably the variety is identical with the French variety Madeleine Royale (synonym Branco Especial). It is cultivated in tiny quantities in the Alentejo area, as well as in the Centro and Norte regions. In 2016, three hectares of vineyard area were declared (statistics Kym Anderson).
