Bottle deviation

Designation for different qualities of a wine, although it is the same producer and wine. The simple reason for this is that during the ageing and storage of wines, the maturing or ageing process in the individual containers is never 100% identical. Especially when ageing in smaller containers such as barriques, the phenomenon of (slightly) different wine qualities occurs. This is compensated for by equalizing (mixing together) containers before bottling. However, different qualities can also result in the course of bottle maturation or ageing. Similarly, wine defects such as cork tastes can only occur in individual bottles.
