DOC area for red wine in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is one of the oldest, as the classification was already granted in 1968. The zone covers 48 hectares of vineyards in the three municipalities of Brescia, Botticino and Rezzato in the province of Brescia. The wine is blended from Barbera (30%), Berzamino = Marzemino (20%), Schiava Gentile and/or Schiava Grigia (10%), Sangiovese (10%) and other authorised varieties (max. 10%). There is also a longer matured Riserva. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna can be indicated followed by the name of the vineyard.
