The German sommelière, wine author and wine critic Paula Bosch (*1956) trained as a restaurant specialist at the Hotel Vorfelder in Walldorf near Heidelberg. At the Leimeister wine tavern in Königstein im Taunus, her work focused on wine consulting, which earned her the reputation of being the first (female) sommelière in Germany. From 1981 she was head sommelière at the Hotel Inter-Continental in Cologne and from 1985 to 1991 at the Restaurant Victorian in Düsseldorf. In 1988 she was awarded the title "Sommelier of the Year" by Gault Millau for the first time. Finally, from 1991 to 2011 she was engaged by the Tantris Restaurant in Munich, which was initially awarded three stars, and was responsible for the wine cellar with 35,000 bottles.
As honorary chairman of the Domäne Wachau, it is the easiest and quickest way for me to access the wein.plus encyclopaedia when I have questions. The certainty of receiving well-founded and up-to-date information here makes it an indispensable guide.
