The winery is located in the municipality of Hainfeld (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The striking half-timbered house on the wine route was built as early as 1619. The Borell family has been growing grapes for generations. The current name came about in 1990 when master winemaker Annette Borell married Thomas Diehl, a viticultural technician from Edesheim. The vineyards cover 28 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Forst and Rosengarten (Edesheim), Kapelle, Kirchenstück and Letten (Hainfeld), as well as Herrenbuckel and Vogelsprung (Flemlingen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Auxerrois, as well as with the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, Black Riesling, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The white wines are fermented and matured slowly and temperature-controlled in stainless steel. The red wines mature after mash fermentation either in large wooden barrels or up to 18 months in barrique. Bottle-fermented vintner's sparkling wines and distillates made from Palatinate fruit are also produced.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
