Bonvin

The Charles Bonvin Fils SA winery in Sion in the Swiss canton of Valais was founded in 1858 and is still a family business today. Since 1990, it has been managed in the fourth generation by André Darbelley. As a novelty in Switzerland, a cellar and a bottling plant have been operated together with the "Frédéric Varone Vins" winery under the company name Les Celliers de Sion since 1992, although both companies continue to operate independently. Bonvin owns the vineyards Brûlefer, Château Conthey and Clos du Château. Bonvin's own vineyards cover a total of 30 hectares, with grapes being purchased from a further 30 hectares. Many wines are produced from the autochthonous varieties Coirnalin (Cornalin d'Aoste), Heida and Petite Arvine, but also from the international Chardonnay, Chasselas, Gamay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The range of around 30 different wines also includes the Valais specialities Fendant (from Chasselas) and Dôle (Pinot Noir and Gamay).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
