The white grape variety comes from Italy. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Triumph x Schiava Grossa. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). In 2016 no stocks were reported (Kym Anderson). See also under Bonarda.
