The winery is located in the town of Utiel 75 km west of Valencia in the DO area of Utiel-Requena in the Spanish region of Valenciana. It was founded in 1998 by the German winemaker Heiner Sauer from the Palatinate. Klaus Lauerbach is responsible for the management and Albert Schamaun is the consultant oenologist. In 2005, a new company building with a modern winery and presentation room was completed. The vineyards cover 16 hectares at 780 to 950 metres above sea level. They are planted exclusively with red wine varieties, i.e. Bobal, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. One vineyard is planted with Bobal vines that are over 100 years old, and another with Tempranillo vines that are over 50 years old.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
