DOC area for white wine in the Italian region of Lazio about 30 km north of Rome. The zone includes the mountains between the Via Flaminia and the Tiber River with the municipalities of Capena, Castelnuovo di Porto, Fiano Romano and Morlupo in the province of Roma. The region is also known for its olive groves. Already the Roman politician Cicero (106-43 BC) praised the lush vineyards around Capena and the wine. It is blended from the varieties Malvasia Bianca di Candia and/or Malvasia del Lazio and/or Malvasia Bianca Lunga (max. 55%), Trebbiano = Trebbiano Toscano and/or Trebbiano Giallo (max. 25%), as well as Bellone and Bombino Bianco (max. 20%). There is also a Superiore with a higher alcohol content.
