The winery is located in the municipality of Ettenheim (Breisgau area) in the German Baden wine region. It was founded by Andreas Bieselin in 2002 after his apprenticeship at the Huber Bernhard winery (Malterdingen) and practical experience at the Poggio al Sole winery in Tuscany, which he runs together with his wife Olivia. The vineyards cover 4.5 hectares of vineyard area, with an additional 6.5 hectares being cultivated on behalf of the local winegrowers' cooperative. In order to achieve optimal sunlight, terraced areas have been converted back to steep slopes. Strict clone selection was applied when replanting vines. The white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Auxerrois, Chardonnay and Muscatel are cultivated to 60%, and the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Franc to 40%. Rigorous yield limitation is intended to produce the best grapes. No chemicals are used in the vinification process. Depending on the type of wine, the ageing takes place in steel tanks or in barriques.
