Bettane Michel

The wine author Michel Bettane is one of the leading wine journalists and wine critics in France. For 20 years until 2004 he wrote regularly for the consumer magazine "La Revue du Vin de France" and was responsible for the wine guide "Classement des Meilleurs Vins de France". Following the takeover by the media group Lagardère, he left the company due to differences of opinion with his colleague Thierry Desseauve. Since 2008, the two have been publishing their own wine guide "Le Grand Guide des Vins". They also co-authored the book "The World's Greatest Wines". Bettane also works for the journals Decanter and World of Fine Wine. He is also credited with the invention of the term garage wine (Vin de garage).
