The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Seibel 13-666 (Plantet x Seibel 6468) x Aleatico. Synonyms are Bessarabskij Muskatnyi, Muscat Basarabean, Muscat Bessarabia, Muscat Bessarabsky. Genes of Vitis aestivalis, Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrids were crossed in Moldova. Incidentally, the same parents also gave rise to the two new varieties Muscat de Yaloven and Viorika. The white wines are mainly used for the production of dessert wines. The variety is cultivated in the Krasnodar region on the Black Sea in Russia. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
