The winery is located in the municipality of Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle
wine region. Wine growing has been in the family for many generations. A bunch economy is attached. The family business belongs to Klaus and Edith Berweiler. Since her training as a master winemaker, daughter Sandra is responsible for the cellar. The vineyards comprise four hectares of vineyards in the Klostergarten (Leiwen), Rosengärtchen
(Neumagen) and Held
(Pölich) areas. They are mainly planted with Riesling and Spätburgunder. Special emphasis is placed on natural cultivation and selective harvesting of the grapes. After strong pre-clarification of the grape must, slow, controlled fermentation follows. In suitable years, noble sweet Beerenauslese and ice wines are also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (marc, mirabelle) and liqueurs (peach) are also produced.
