The winery is located in the municipality of Gols in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee (Austria). The history of the traditional Bernthaler family dates back to 1755, when it is mentioned in the local chronicle as owning 74 pounds of vineyards. The winery is run by Helmut (cellar) and Herbert Bernthaler (vineyards). The vineyards cover eight hectares of vines on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl in the Altenberg, Eroff, Langenacker, Neufeld, Ungerberg, Zwerg and Zwickel vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Neuburger, Grüner Veltliner, Weißburgunder and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Blauburger.
