The VDP. winery Bercher is located in Burkheim, a district of the municipality of Vogtsburg (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The family coat of arms and the family name can be traced back to the year 1457, at that time still in Switzerland. Winegrowing has been practised by this traditional family since the 17th century. Franz-Michael Bercher built the manor house with a vaulted cellar in 1756, which has remained in the family ever since and is still the headquarters of the winery today. The business is now run by the tenth generation of the family, the two cousins Arne Bercher and Martin Bercher.

The vineyards are cultivated using sustainable methods.
