Beetles

Order (Coleoptera) of insects with about 250,000 species, which have an often colourful skin armour with solid skin wings. The development takes place in complete metamorphosis (egg, larva, pupa, full insect). Some species of beetles act as pests of the grapevine, but others act as beneficial insects, some of which are deliberately used. Types of beetles found in the vineyard are Asian ladybird (polychrome ladybird, harlequin ladybird), boreal beetle, largemouth weevil, June beetle, cockchafer(Engerling), ladybird, vine weevil, grapevine weevil (leafworm) and weevil. See also under vine enemies.
