The white grape variety comes from Bulgaria. Synonyms are Alba Grasa, Bela Debela, Belina Goveda, Belina Goveja, Belina Govezgda, Belina Govezhda, Belina Obicna, Beli Prokupac, Biala Glava, Biala Rada, Govedina, Shikla and Taushan Gyuzyu. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Alba Imputotato x Prokupac. Incidentally, the Turkish variety Papazkarasi was created with the same parents. Beala Debela is a parent of the varieties Crimpoșie and Plavay. In 2016 no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
