The red grape variety (also Barreto de Semente) comes from Portugal. It is probably identical with the Tinta Bragao variety. Under the name Barreto, it is cultivated in small quantities in the two Portuguese regions of Centro and Norte. In 2016, three hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
