The white grape variety originates from Italy. The parentage is unknown. Nothing is known about possible relations to one of the many Barbarossa varieties either. It must not be confused with the variety Barbarossa di Finalborgo (with synonym Barbarossa di Finale). The red-berried variety is suitable as a wine-press and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
