Banquet wine

Colloquial term without meaning in wine law for wines which are served especially in restaurants at banquets or events with mostly larger numbers of guests. They are rather simpler wines with an optimal price-performance ratio, which are also available in larger quantities. Quite often these are wines of a simpler but cleaner quality. See in this respect also under private label and draught wine as well as a list under special wines.
