The winery is located in the municipality of Ramsthal (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. It was founded in 1966 by Karl-Heinz and Thekla Baldauf with just under one hectare at the time. In 1990 Gerald Baldauf took over the farm and since 1996 it has been run jointly by the brothers Gerald and Ralf Baldauf. Wine sales in the vinotheque are handled by the wives Heike and Silvia Baldauf. The vineyards cover 48 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites St. Klausen (Ramsthal), Langenberg (Retzstadt), Schloß (Laudenbach), Stein (Stetten), Himmelberg (Leinach, Vögelein (Nordheim) and Trautlestal (Hammelsburg). In addition, grapes are supplied by contract winegrowers in accordance with the winery's management guidelines.
