Balaton (branded wine)

Branded red wine from the Hungarian company "BB" (Balatonboglari Borgazdasagi) on the shore of Lake Balaton (Balatonboglari Borgazdasagi), in which the German company Henkell has a majority shareholding This branded wine was first marketed in 1996 and developed into a very successful export product. The wine is produced from Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch), Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir blended. Until 2006 more than 20 million bottles were sold. For its tenth anniversary, the bottle received a new design and a special plastic cork closure instead of the previous natural cork.
