The white grape variety originates from Hungary. Synonyms are Balafán and White Pikolit. The parentage is unknown. It should not be confused with the varieties Csaba Gyöngye (Korai Balafánt), Kéknyelű or Picolit (both with the synonym Balafánt) due to some of the same synonyms or morphological similarities. The medium to late ripening, loose-berried vine is relatively resistant to powdery mildew, but susceptible to botrytis. It produces fruity white wines with fresh acidity. No stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
