Baden Red gold

Special designation for a Rotling of at least quality grade quality wine from the German Baden wine region. It may also be used for a quality sparkling wine or a quality semi-sparkling wine, provided that these products have only been made from wine that is allowed to bear the designation "Badisch Rotgold". The wine must be produced from a grape or mash mixture of the two varieties Ruländer(Pinot Gris) and Blauer Spätburgunder(Pinot Noir) which have been blended together before fermentation. According to EU law, however, the designation rosé (where only red grapes are allowed) is not permitted.
