The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Petra x Bianca. Synonyms are Bacska, Ister, SK 86-3-276 and Sremski Karlovci 86-3-276 and it was named after the region (Batschka) which is shared by the two countries Hungary and Serbia. The hybrid was crossed in Serbia by the two breeders Petar Cindric and Nadar Korac. The plant variety protection was granted in 2002. The vine is resistant to frost and generally to fungal diseases.
